Project for Zurich Design Weeks 2024
The exhibition ‘Close Up’ in the poster gallery of the Museum für Gestaltung Zurich is my contribution to the Zurich Design Weeks 2024. I was asked by the organisers to produce a photographic work about various Swiss industrial design products.
In the concept work, I was interested in the diverse design details of the various objects and decided to turn it into a two-stage work: in the first step, I photographed the striking details in order to reassemble them in the form of a collage and photograph them again in a second step.
The artistic alienation of the objects into a new overall picture offers a new perspective on the familiar objects of Swiss companies.
In order to make the production process of photography as a creative act comprehensible to the viewer, a documentation of the set-up in the photo studio accompanies the series of collages.
The collages were produced as oversized prints on canvas, in which the viewer can recognise the finest details.
